The governor’s revised budget does not include funding for a newly created position at VDACS. The last session of the General Assembly approved that position because of the need for a person to audit reports and to monitor the Virginia Certified Fertilizer Applicator program. Covid-19 has affected the economy and has forced Governor Northam to make changes in his budget. We need to make sure this position is funded once the economy improves. The need for VDACS to audit acreages under managed fertilizer care was a driving force for this new position.
