About Government Relations

Help us STOP legislation targeting YOUR business…

It’s been another busy legislative session in Richmond and your VTC staff and board have been active fighting harmful legislation. Leaf blower bans, new taxes on landscaping services, product bans, and invasive species were the big topics for us in 2026 – but we also spent time in the off-season preventing other bills from even being filed and working to ensure regulatory changes were done in a fair, transparent manner that benefits the green industry. Many of these bills we defeated will be returning in 2027. We applaud our valuable partners at the Virginia Agribusiness Council for their hard work on behalf of the entire agriculture and forestry space, and we are proud to support their work. If you’ve never attended their annual legislative banquet in January of each year, we encourage you to do so. Learn more about the VAC here.

Every year, VTC’s Board of Directors distribute grass seed to members of the General Assembly in our annual visit to all 140 House and Senate offices. This year, we expanded our reach to all House and Senate budget staff, VDACS staff, and administrative staff. Thanks to Kurt Fellenstein and Trinity Turf for providing 350 bags of quality seed each year!

We THANK YOU for supporting the VTC and our work in Richmond.
