What is the Virginia Turfgrass Foundation?
The Virginia Turfgrass Foundation was formed to provide a stable source of funds for innovative turfgrass research, teaching and Cooperative Extension programs.  The Virginia Turfgrass Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt, scientific and educational organization 501(c)(3), therefore contributions are tax deductible.  The contributions will perpetually accumulate interest, which will be utilized to fund the programs.

Endowment Fund Update
May 2010: $341,000 and growing

Help us Identify Research Topics
We need your help in identifying turfgrass research topics that you would like to see funded.  We have a wonderful team of turfgrass researchers at Virginia Tech that are willing, able, and at our service.  If they are unable to do the research we can and will look to other programs to meet our needs.  Please feel free to contact any of our board members or the VTF office to offer your suggestions.

$72,471 of Research is being funded for the 2010 fiscal year:
Title:  Improving Chemical and Biological Management of Moss of Golf Putting Greens (Shawn D. Askew and David S. McCall)  Estimated Cost: Year 1- $12,50

Title: Cultural and physiological impacts on brown patch severity and weed encroachment in tall fescue (Jeff Derr and David McCall)    Estimated Cost:  Year 1- $32,000

Title: New and novel chemistries and timing options for managing annual bluegrass weevil and masked chafers in turfgrass (Rod Youngman)  One year:  $8,503
